What is a veneer?

A veneer is a beautiful thin façade of porcelain bonded to the front of your tooth. A veneer is used to cover imperfections in your natural tooth structure. A veneer can correct color, shape or even give you “instant orthodontics”.

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is used to replace single or even multiple missing teeth. It is placed in the jaw bone either when a tooth is removed, or after an extracted tooth site has healed. After healing and restoration, the implant crown now chews and functions like your natural tooth! For multiple missing teeth we offer; fixed implant supported bridges, removable implant supported partials, as well as dentures! Implant supported dentures are a godsend for those who have lost their teeth and have issues with embarrassing, loose, slipping dentures.

What is a crown?

A crown is placed on a tooth when too much tooth structure has been lost due to decay, fracture or trauma. A crown, in essence, replaces your enamel on a particular tooth. It can be made out of a mixture of metals, gold and/or tooth colored porcelain to look, chew and function like a natural tooth.

What is a bridge?

A fixed bridge replaces a missing tooth by “bridging” the space to give the appearance that the missing tooth is still present. A fixed bridge usually consists of 2 crowns and a “pontic” that are fused together to form a bridge which looks like 3 teeth. The bridge is cemented on teeth that are adjacent to the missing tooth space, giving the function and the appearance that the tooth was never lost!

Do you offer dentures and partials?

Do you offer implant retained dentures? Do you offer metal-free partials? Yes! Yes! Yes!  Call to schedule an appointment today so we can help you replace your missing teeth or ill fitting dentures and/or partials.

Do you treat children?

Absolutely! We Love Children! What is the best age to bring my child in to see a general dentist? Generally speaking 3 years old is a wonderful time to start great dental habits, even if just to come in for a “happy visit” to introduce your child to the dental office environment.

My gums bleed when I brush my teeth. What should I do?

Bleeding gums are not normal. Schedule an appointment today to get established in the dental office and have the doctor evaluate the health of your teeth and gums. I’ve been told I have gum disease. What is it? Gum Disease has been and is known by many names: Pyorrhea, Periodontitis, and in its early form; Gingivitis. In the simplest terms it is infection in the gums and bone which leads to loss of bone and support for your teeth which leads to tooth loss. Can it be cured? Cured? No. Treated and maintained with professional dental intervention and ongoing care? Yes!

What kind of teeth whitening do you offer?

We have two forms of whitening we offer our patients. Take home whitening trays with professional strength whitening solution and an in-house option for “Instant” results! Why do you offer two options? No two people are the same. We all have different personalities and different life challenges. The first option is our most affordable. The take home option requires a commitment of putting gel in trays 2 times per day for 30 – 60 minutes each time for the initial two week period. In our office we provide a WONDERFUL affordable offer called “Whitening For Life®”. Patients of record who come in for their dental hygiene visits at their recommended intervals may be eligible for Whitening For Life®. When you sign up, we make custom fitted trays and provide instructions with a two week supply of whitening gel to get started. As long as recommended dental hygiene appointments are kept we provide a FREE tube of gel to you at each dental hygiene cleaning appointment so you may “refresh” and maintain your desired level of whitening for a few days after your dental cleaning. Thus the name; “Whitening for Life®”! The second option is for those of us (and we all know who we are) who don’t have the time or who simply can’t commit to doing something multiple times per day for weeks. Our in-house whitening is WONDERFUL! After a single appointment you will leave with whiter teeth that would have taken two or more weeks otherwise! And as a bonus for our patients of record who complete the in-house whitening and come for their regular dental hygiene appointments in our practice, we INCLUDE our “Whitening For Life®” at no additional charge so you can refresh and maintain your beautiful whitened teeth for just a few days after your dental hygiene cleanings!

What does cosmetic dentistry mean?

Cosmetic dentistry is elective. It is taking action towards achieving beauty, self improvement and boosting self esteem! It is improving upon what nature, genetics and life circumstances has given you so you receive the smile you have always dreamed of!

My jaw joints (TMJs) hurt when opening and closing my mouth. What do I do?

Contact our office immediately! There is no need to continue in pain! If the jaw joint (Temporomandibular Joint: TMJ) deteriorates, it only gets worse and more damage occurs. We have GREAT success stories utilizing removable appliance therapy called F.A.C.T. This is NOT a bite guard or night guard, both of which are “crutches”. This is actual treatment and therapy. We have had a dad who couldn’t even read bedtime stories to his children because of the pain in his jaws. Within a 24 hour period he was experiencing such an improvement, he was able to read his child to sleep for the first time in months! Should you expect that same immediate result? We cannot make that claim but, every person that we have treated has improved greatly!

Is there a dental treatment available for migraine headaches?

Contact our office immediately! There is no need to continue in pain! Patients who thought they were experiencing migraine headaches have found out that it was really the deterioration of their TMJ reducing the blood supply to their brain causing their headaches. If the jaw joint (Temporomandibular Joint: TMJ) deteriorates it only gets worse and more damage occurs.

Do your doctors complete a lot of cosmetic dentistry?

Yes we do!

I had a root canal done on one of my molars. The dentist said I need a crown on that tooth. Why?

When a root canal is done to relieve pain and save a tooth from extraction, there is no longer moisture entering the tooth to keep it supple. A crown on a root canal tooth is like a big hug that protects a tooth from fracturing vertically. A tooth with a vertical root fracture is no longer salvageable and the tooth must be extracted.

I need a lot of dental work done. Does your office have payment plans?
