Rapid City Invisalign

Contact our Rapid City dental office today to learn more.

Invisalign is an increasingly popular alternative to traditional metal braces for straightening teeth. If you are considering Invisalign in Rapid City, Black Hills Area Dental can help.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign consists of a series of clear, custom-made aligners that are virtually invisible. The aligners are made with 3D computer imaging technology and worn over your teeth. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week-by-week – until they have straightened to the final position that Dr. Bart Samuelson has prescribed.

Invisalign FAQ

How long will I wear Invisalign aligners?

The length of treatment depends on the severity of your case but typically ranges from nine to 15 months.

How often do I need to wear my Invisalign aligners?

You should wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss.

Are Invisalign aligners comfortable?

Invisalign aligners are made of smooth, BPA-free plastic that won’t irritate your gums or cheeks the way metal braces can. You may experience some soreness or discomfort for the first few days after you receive your new aligners, but this is normal and should go away quickly.

Can I eat with Invisalign aligners in?

You can eat with Invisalign aligners in, but you should remove them first. Eating with the aligners in can cause them to become dislodged or lost.

How do I care for my Invisalign aligners?

You should brush and floss your teeth before putting your aligners back in. You can also rinse your aligners with cold water to clean them. Avoid hot water, which can warp the aligners.

When will I see results with Invisalign?

You will start to see results within a few weeks of starting treatment. However, the full results of your treatment will not be visible until you have completed the entire course of treatment.

How much does Invisalign cost?

The cost of Invisalign varies depending on the severity of your case. Black Hills Area Dental offers a free consultation to help you determine the cost of your treatment.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually move your teeth over time. Each set of aligners is worn for about two weeks before being replaced with the next in the series. You’ll visit Black Hills Area Dental every six weeks or so to make sure your treatment is progressing as planned.
